Pair face meth charges

ROGERSVILLE—Although state lawmakers have tried to make it more difficult to obtain the ingredients to manufacture crystal methamphetamine, local authorities have arrested two individuals on charges of manufacturing and possessing meth.
William R. Lynch, 31, and Wendy C. Williams, 25, are each charged with manufacturing, delivering and sale of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule II drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia (Ephedrine) and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to court records, the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant November 6 at a residence on County Line Road, Mooresburg.
Detective Ronnie Lawson, who heads the narcotics unit, said during the search officers found “several components” that are used to manufacture meth were found during the search with the items identified as gassers, ether, funnels, tubing and muratic acid.
Court records also state officers reported finding more than one gram of a substance believed to be processed crystal meth.
Both Williams and Lynch were taken into custody at the Grainger County Jail on Wednesday and were transported to the Hawkins County Jail for booking.
The pair is scheduled to appear in Hawkins County General Sessions Court December 12.
